Once again, I shall state that I do not promote the term "guilty pleasure". If you like it, if it honks your hooter, then honk on!
I admit I crash on Brittney Spears, and think her music along with most modern chart topping pop is pathetic. But hey, that's just me...just my little old opinion, if it talks to you, and you like...don't listen to my lame ass.
All that being said, I am coming to the terms that I like Def Leppard. I am pondering making my own "butt" rockin, hair expanding mix CD. The best of those late 70's and 80's bands. Styx, Def Leppard, Foreigner, Journey...that sort of thing. Though, I still don't know I could stomach much Bon Jovi.

Thu, May 8, 2008 - 9:54 PMI could never get into the hair bands, although early Van Halen kicks mucho ass.
My "guilty pleasure" is disco, the guys at work make fun of it, but I just turn it up louder so I can't hear them.

Re: No such thing as a guilty pleasure
Thu, May 8, 2008 - 11:16 PMWell, I really like Steely Dan. I'm not ashamed to admit it. Not only were they some amazing musicians (just you try to follow those crazy chord progressions, I dare you - plus they got their name from a dildo in Naked Lunch), but they take me back to my childhood.
I also like the Carpenters. My parents played it a lot when I was a kid, and - same as then - you still hear it in the grocery store and at Walgreen's. Very nostalgic and comforting. Karen Carpenter was the Queen of completely breathless singing. Pure tone. Perfect pitch. Cheesy? Yes. Awesome? Yes. -

Mon, May 12, 2008 - 10:27 PM"honks your hooter"? Ok, nothing personal, but I've got to use that one myself. As for the rest - well you know I've got no room to complain :)
